Summer Reading Information

Summer reading information was sent home with students with their report cards. All students including rising 5th graders, 6th, and rising 7th graders going to SMS are all expected to read at least 1000 minutes during the summer. (This is about 15 minutes per day!) Research has shown that students who do not read over the summer lose skills and must work to regain those reading skills in the fall while other students who did read move forward.  If your student misplaces the reading packet, the reading time sheet and log is available here.  Please calculate total minutes, sign, and return these sheets to school in the fall to the 2012-13 ELA teacher.
